Violet Voss - Pro Eye Shadows Product Review

Like Really...what is all the buzz about???

Violet Voss launched this highly talked about and recommended Drenched Metal Pro Eye Shadow palette which retails for $52 USD. Being the makeup fanatic I am I thought I just had to have it. The palette contains 20 shadows, ranging from mattes, to satins to shimmers. This pro palette is ideal for persons with cool undertones as the palette consist of an array of unique, soft, buttery, highly pigmented shades as shown in the swatches below.

Product Packaging

The product is packaged in a sleek black magnetic closure, cardboard casing, the best part it's super thin, which makes it ideal for traveling and it contains a medium size mirror.

First Impressions and Swatches

My main concerns were; firstly, there were so many shimmery shades in the palette, it was like a palette of "frost" when I finally opened it and I wondered exactly how ideal it would be in creating looks I actually liked. Secondly, whereby the shades were pigmented they appeared deeper in the palette as oppose to when swatched.

With all the frost in this palette, I went on to create an Elsa inspired makeup look (yes, you read that right, Elsa from frozen), just to test the palette's blendability and pigmentation given that there aren't much transition shades.

Violet Voss Shades used to create the eye look: Dark Desires & Huntress (crease shade), Midnight Tryst (outer corner shade), Frisky & Shade (eyelid shade), Kisses x Poppin ( brow bone highlight & inner corner eyelid highlight)

My first impressions of this palette was initially good, Dark desires and Huntress blended seamlessly, but from there on, blendability went down the drain, the other colours were difficult to blend and there were a lot of fall out, (Thank God I didn't do my base first!!!) the colour shade applied best when I sprayed my brush with setting spray first. Out of this entire palette my fav shades are definitely Kisses and Popping.

This palette was a disappointment because the shades weren't exactly what I expected, I honestly can't see myself creating full looks with it again due to its lack of blendability, but I would mix it in with other palettes.

So there you have it a review of the Violet Voss Drenched Metal Pro Eye Shadow Palette, I wont recommend you buy it, but if you have the palette already and your experience was different, leave a comment and tell us about it.
