Do's & Don't's In the Spirit of Wedding Season: Hacks & Tips

First of all, no I'm not married. I'm always a brides maid, never a bride. This photo is from a cool shoot I did with a friend of mine, Yehudi, who specializes in wedding photography, check out his amazing elegant and timeless work at Yehudi Walters Photography.

However, I do know a bride who recently got married. If you guessed my best friend, Vanna, you guessed right, and I had the honor of being her MOH (maid of honor).

For the few months leading up to the wedding all we did was track trends and enjoyed several DIY projects. So in the spirit of bridal season I'm gonna tell you some Do's and Don't's that would make your day just as magical.

TIP 1:

My first tip is a big one,  remember there is life after your wedding also known as the marriage or the real work. So don't go taking loans to have an extravagant event.

TIP 2:

Take on as many DIY projects as possible. The reality is there are so many fun projects you can engage your bridal party in. Which will save money and allow for personalized touches. For example for Vanna's wedding we had a ton of DIY projects some of my favorites were the bird nest for the rings and the here comes the bride sign.

For all your DIY projects you can visit E-Styles in Aranguez for high quality products.

TIP 3:

Come up with your personalized hashtag for your big day. This makes it way more interactive for your guess and after the big day you can easily view everyones post and experiences. #VanWedsKev2016

TIP 4:

Choose an appropriate wedding song. There are several songs that may seem like the shit now but looking back 15 years (assuming the marriage last that long) will you really think Justin Bieber's Remix of Despacito was appropriate. There are so many timeless songs choose one.

Just some examples:

TIP 5:

This tip is somewhat linked to tip 1, If you're really good at doing your own makeup, it makes no sense you're gonna pay a makeup artist thousands of dollars for a look you can recreate yourself. Usually, a trial cost $600.00TTD and the actually wedding day makeup ranges from $1000- $1400 TTD. And no, they're not baking your face with gold. The prices are just ridiculous. So if you're really good at beating your own face DIY. However, if your makeup looks basic even when you put effort in, spend your money behind a good makeup artist.

And my final tip...

TIP 6:

Don't forget to download the Holy Matrimoji app, and mark your event with a cute hand designed emoji by wedding dress designer Hayley Paige.

I hope these hacks and tips were somewhat helpful for all the brides to be.
